Dale E. Rogers age 57 of Richville passed away unexpectedly March 6, 2010. He was born October 22, 1952 in Lock Haven, PA to Dean & Hester (Ripka) Rogers. He graduated from Lock Haven State University in 1974 with a degree in education. Dale moved to Richville, OH. in 1977 and was employed at Demmer Hardware. He began as an apprentice machinist at the Timken Co. in 1979 where he is currently employed. He was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon; currently serving as president of the congregation and chairman of the call committee. His real enjoyment was spending time with his family, grand dogs, reading, golfing, traveling and eating out. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hester Rogers. Dale was a patient, easy going man, quick to smile and always willing to help anyone. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Dale is survived by his wife Ellen (Rice) Rogers of the residence with whom he shared 35 years of marriage on Jan. 4. They have two daughters: Laurel & Troy Schafrath of Minerva and Abby Rogers and her fiancé David Rodgers of Canton as well as their two children. In addition there are: his father Dean Rogers, a sister Joyce Rogers both of PA; father-in-law, Darrel Rice; brothers in law, Paul & David Rice all of Stark County, several nieces and a nephew. A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be 11 AM March 9, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church, the Rev. Roger Thompson and Rev. Sue Rodgers will offiate. Burial will be at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. Friends may call 4-7 PM Monday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Memorial Fund at Faith Lutheran, 107 6th St. S. W., Massillon, OH 44647.
