Cynthia M. Montini, 1941-2021 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15th, 2021 with her loving son Michael by her side. Cynthia was born in Massillon on February 11th, 1941 to the late Harry and Marion Mallalieu. Cynthia was a graduate of Malone College of Education and an elementary school teacher in the Massillon School District for 10 years. A member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cynthia was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Jim Montini, who she shared her life with for 57 years and who lovingly referred to her as “Babe.” Following her retirement, Cynthia was an involved grandmother who shared her passion for painting, photography, murder mysteries, baking, and the arts. Cynthia left an everlasting impression and legacy on the world around her by founding two MS support groups in Stark County, being a member of Christian Mother’s group at St. Joseph’s, and continuous volunteering at the Massillon Library. Cynthia’s strength, drive, and ability to overcome life’s hardest obstacles is truly admirable and will never be forgotten. Cynthia and her family were blessed to be together during her last days. She is survived by her children Cindy Michelle Montini, Michael James (Laura Jean) Montini, and Kevin Thomas (Nadine Marie) Montini, all of Jackson Township; her “sis” Patricia (Charles) Smith, her brother, Edward Mallalieu; and six grandchildren Brittney, Blair, Gina, Mia, Brianna, and Anthony. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Montini, brother Lee Sherman Mallalieu, and cherished niece Julie Ann Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Fr. Raymond Paul, Officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
