Crist Fostines, age 91 of Massillon passed away Nov. 6, 2015 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born Sept. 5, 1924 to the late Nicholas & Angeline Fostines. Crist was a life-long resident of Massillon and graduated from Washington High School. After graduation Crist entered the US Army and received many awards while serving with the 8th Infantry Division in Europe. Crist was severely wounded in France and returned to the US and spent the next few years in VA hospitals. When Crist returned to Massillon he became an avid golfer and soon became a two time winner of the Tiger Town Open. Many rounds and years later, he was honored with his induction into the Stark County Golf Hall of Fame in the year 2012. Crist finally retired to the golf course in 1983 after 32 years of service with Republic Steel (LTV). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Patricia (Nodo) Fostines and brother, John Fostines. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Chrissy and Dennis Daverio; grandson, Nicholas; sisters, Doris Thanos of Akron; Angie and brother-in-law Paul Paul of Canton; brother, Pete and sister-in-law Tula of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends. A special thanks to Aultman Hospice & Palliative Care. The family suggests donations be made to the Aultman Hospice & Palliative Care Center. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday at 12 noon. Visitation will be Monday from 10 – 11:45 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
