Crawford M. Steele

Crawford M. Steele, age 66 of Massillon, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Country Lawn Nursing Home. He was born on July 28, 1941 in O’Keefe, West Virginia and was the son of the late Harry & Belle (Moore) Steele. In 2004 Crawford retired from Republic Steel following 30 years of service. He was a member of the Massillon Church of Christ. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, his brothers, Harry, Jr., Tom, Bennie and Ermal Steele and his sisters, Evelyn Ferrell, Betty Baldwin, Lola Sonnhalter and Mary Daniels He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. (Mahon) Steele whom he married on October 31, 1960, his son and daughter in law, Mickey and Heather Steele of Virginia, his grandchildren, Tyler, Jonathan, Nathaniel and Emma Grace and his brothers, John Steele and Robert Steele. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Evangelists Glenn Hawkins and Jack Gilchrist officiating. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-9 P.M. and on Wednesday one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Crawford M. Steele to either Mercy Hospice or the Activities Program at Country Lawn Nursing Home, Alzheimer’s Division.
