Constance "Connie" Joan Shilling

Constance “Connie” J. Shilling, 81, of Massillon, passed away on February 16, 2018. She was born on December 14, 1936 in Massillon to the late Wilbur and R. Evelyn (Whisler) Lipps. She married Wesley P. Shilling on December 18, 1954. They shared 63 loving years together. Connie worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield where she retired after many years of service. She was also a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, attending Broadway shows and spending time with her cat, Shady. Her greatest passion in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Connie will be deeply missed by her husband, Wes; daughters Jeannine (Sam) Thomas and Victoria (JP) Munford; grandchildren Brian Peterson, Antonio Peterson, Taylor Thomas, Trent Thomas and Trace Thomas and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 101 Tremont Ave SE, Massillon, OH 44646. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s name to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St NE, Louisville, OH 44641.
