Colleen Carroll Feichter age 64 of Massillon passed away Friday May 8, 2009 at her residence after a long illness. She had her husband and close friends with her. Colleen was born February 7, 1945 in Massillon to the late Walter Kenneth & Mae Mary (Gannon) Carroll. She was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School and Gerber Cosmetology School. Colleen had been employed at John Thompson Hair, Hillsdale Beauty Salon and was manager of O’Neils Hair at Mellet Mall. For 20 years she drove school bus for Jackson Schools and retired in 2001. While driving bus she was an officer and past president of the bus drivers and non classified union members. While bus driving, she was able to take enjoyment in helping the special need students. Those close to Colleen were able to enjoy her unique wit and humor. With her busy life she would take time to help all God creatures both animals and people. Colleen was a member of Elks #441. She is survived by her husband Ralph E. Feichter of the residence with whom she celebrated 28 years of marriage (May 9, 1981) and a sister Linda (Robert) Lewandowski of Chagrin Falls. Stepchildren: Vanessa & Perry Stergios of Massillon, Matthew & Cheryl Feichter of Canfield and Michael & Ann Feichter of Cuyahoga Falls and several grandchildren and a very dear friend Susan Finsel of Massillon. A Celebration of Colleen’s Life will be Tuesday May 12, 2009 at 1 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon; the Rev. Ronald Belanga will officiate with a long time friend Rev. Robert Hoover delivering the eulogy. Her final resting place will be Rose Hill Memorial Garden. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The family would appreciate contributions to Mercy Hospice. Ralph would like to recognize the loving care and kindness shown by Mercy Hospice to Colleen and the family.
