Clifford L. Detwiler, 91, passed away on April 23, 2017. He was born in Akron on March 6, 1926 to the late Clifford R. and Selma ( Johnson) Detwiler. Cliff was a proud Veteran of WW II serving in the Navy. He was a farmer and worked many years as a Union Brick Layer and then worked for May company until his retirement. He was known for his thoughtfulness, dedication to family and was a shining example of the Greatest Generation. Cliff is survived by his children, Marsha (Curtis) Atkinson of Jackson Twp, Gail (Eli) Byler of Clarksville MI, Dan (Linda) Detwiler of Scio and Cilfford L. Detwiler, Jr of New Port Ritchie, FL; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Detwiler; numerous nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Borman Yang and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Fraley Detwiler; a sister, Jean Neal and a brother, William Detwiler. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:00pm and at the First Assembly of God, Massillon on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 9:30-10:30am with a funeral service to be held at 10:30am, Pastor Jeremy McGraw, officiating. Burial will be in Greensburg Cemetery.
