Clarence J. Burney

November 12, 1943 — September 15, 2006

Clarence Burney, age 62 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 15, 2006, after an extended illness. He was born in Wheeling, WV on November 12, 1943 and moved to Massillon in 1971. He had been employed at one time with Cutler Real Estate. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Massillon where he sang in the choir, the male chorus, and was a retired deacon. He was a graduate of Powhatan High School in 1961 and furthered his education at North Fork State University, and obtained his real estate license. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Burney Sr. and Mary Ellen (Donaldson) Burney. He leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Armelee (Conley) of the residence and his mother-in-law, Annie Mae Conley of Massillon; father-in-law, Anthony Conley of Akron and a special aunts and uncles, Kathleen & Earl Marsh of Akron, Loreta & Clifton Spinner of Steubenville, Robert & Pauline Donaldson of St. Clairesville. He also leaves behind his children, Clarence Burney III, Christopher Burney and Christina Burney all of Canton, Venezia (Burney) Outlaw of SC, Sheena (Roy) Allen of Ft. Lee, Virginia, Andre (Jai Cynthia) Conley of Bedford, Shannon Conley of Burnsville, MN; three brothers and sister-in-law, Eugene (Judy) Burney of Bellaire, Charles Chuck Burney, Jerry Burney both of Wheeling, WV; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Conley of Akron, Dorothy Conley of MN, Doretha Myricks, Anthony Conley, Cynthia (Tommie) Ray, Stacy (Bryan) Frazier all of Massillon, Barbara Ann Conley of Canton, Lonnie Conley of Cleveland, Willie Conley of Dallas, TX, Renee Conley of Alliance, Gary Conley of WS; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. James AME Zion Church, 209 2nd Street S.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. All condolences may be sent to 1828 Massachusetts Avenue S.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
