Clarence "Barney" M. Jogerst

Clarence M. “Barney” Jogerst, 97, of Massillon, passed away on January 15, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Navarre, Ohio on June 13, 1920 to the late Conrad and Mary (Schnider) Jogerst. Barney proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Yerman, on August 31, 1946. They shared 64 loving years together until her passing in 2011. Barney was a graduate of Navarre High School and he worked for the United States Postal Service. He was also a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus, Council 554. He will be deeply missed by his two sons, Greg T. Jogerst and Tim J. Jogerst; grandson Eric J. Jogerst; and sister Marietta Heiser. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his 2 sisters and 6 brothers. A memorial mass will be held at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. and friends may call one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment will follow at Brookfield Cemetery where military rites will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the Children’s Tumor Foundation, 120 Wall St., 16th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
