Clara VanRyzin, 90, of Massillon, passed away on August 23, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic / Mercy Hospital.
She was born on March 23, 1934 to the late James and Europe George in Ecorse, MI.
A 1952 graduate of Washington High School, she retired from The Ohio Bureau of Employment Services in Canton, Ohio. She was a faithful baptized member of the Massillon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She placed her faith and hope in the Bible and its future promises. Clara will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and humble person to everyone. She was an avid reader and loved being and working outdoors. She enjoyed walking at the nearby park. She also loved all animals, especially her cats.
Clara is survived by her loving children, Kelly (Ricky) Schwan and David VanRyzin; grandchildren, Zachary (Jessica) VanRyzin, Philip (Tracy) VanRyzin, and Melissa (Travis) Lytle; great-grandchildren, Paxton and Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Romaine VanRyzin; and sisters, Mary Manos and Bessie Shook.
A private family gathering was held.
