Claire Bowers Reader

Claire Bowers Reader, age 89 of Canton passed away Sunday at The Laurels of Massillon. Claire was born February 19, 1926 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to the late Edward & Bertha (Williams) Dolan. She was a graduate of Timken High School. Claire was very active in many activities including the Massillon Woman's Club, Canton Woman's Club, Canton Garden Club and the Canton Symphony. Claire was an avid tennis player, golfer and bridge player. She will be remembered for hosting social functions and enjoying her many friends. People will remember her as a very giving and caring person. Claire is survived by her husband, Judge W. Don Reader; two daughters; Claudia Lynn Powell and Amy Lee Zeglen and five grandchildren; Matthew Muhlfelder, Eric Muhlfelder, Jeshua Zeglen, Delaney Zeglen and Griffin Zeglen; a sister, Jeanne Marie Dolan and a brother Michael Edward Dolan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband William L. Bowers in 2003. A Memorial Service for Claire Reader will be 11 AM Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon. Rev. Larry Lalama will officiate.
