Christopher David Schandel

Christopher David Schandel, 40, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Christopher was born on January 27, 1981, in Canton, the son of Phillip and Linda (Kupchinsky) Schandel. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Schandel and his nephew Hayden Bergert. He is survived by his parents Phillip and Linda Schandel, siblings Diane (Walid) Elmogassbi, John Schandel, Jennifer (Chris) Bergert, and Phillip (Ashley) Schandel; his niece and nephews Steven and Seth Scrimo; Blake, Reese, Aaron and Beau Shiplett; Brady Schandel; Logan, Abbie and Calvin Bergert; Noah and Samuel Schandel; great-nephew Dominick Scrimo, and many friends. Christopher attended St. Mary’s school, Central Catholic High School and Akron University. Growing up he loved showing and riding horses, playing musical instruments, and exercising. As an adult he worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, STNA and dialysis technician. He enjoyed walking every day, had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was always optimistic about the future and dreamed of having a horse farm with a horse for each of his nephews and niece. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
