Christ "Chris" P. Liossis

Christ P. Liossis, age 87 of Massillon, OH, as a true Golden Glove Champion (1946), he fought his way through illness after illness and ended his fight surrounded by his loving family. He fell asleep to the Lord on June 13, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter C. and Mary P. Liossis. An inspiration to many he leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 63 years Goldie Liossis, who was truly the love of his life; his daughters Mary Yeaman (Robert Jones), Rose Ann (Dan) DaRe, Jean Holiday, son Peter C. Liossis. As well as son-in-law Ken Yeaman (Linda Hernandez); his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Angelina (Dimitri) Maria, Alexandra Verginis, Suzanne (Dave) Anna Overbey, Cassidy, Zachary Vaughn, Lisa DaRe, Sarah (Daniel) Sydnie, Sofia Limbach, Christina (Edgar) Emily, Ethan, Evan Hernandez; Ryan Holiday; Jen (Cody) Joey, Cali Byham; his brothers Steve (Gloria) Liossis, Mike (Mary Ann) Liossis, Nick (Louise) Liossis, and his beloved friend William (Martha) Chovan "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". Chris was born in Massillon, Ohio on Sept. 3rd 1928 to Peter C. Liossis of Kranidi, Greece and Mary (Poulis) Liossis of Kilada, Greece. A Proud graduate of Washington High School in 1946 he went on to get a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Griscom Russell Co. and Babcox & Wilcox Co. He then founded Hydro Dyne Inc. in 1967 and remained its' president until Sept. 3, 1990. He remained an active consultant and involved in the company which is still in operation today in Massillon, Ohio. A lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Massillon, Ohio. He was a true champion and supporter for the church throughout his life. He will continue to be our inspiration and hero. He will always be in our hearts and his impish nature will forever make us smile. Calling hours will be held Wednesday June 15, 2016 from 6-8 at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd, Massillon, OH. The family will receive friends from 10-11a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 364 1st. S.E. Massillon, OH on Thursday June 16, 2016 with the funeral to follow at 11a.m. which will be conducted by his lifelong friend Father Constantine Shiepis and Deacon Varonis. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
