Charles T. (Tom) Locke passed away on August 24 at the age of 84. Tom was born on March 5, 1930, in Dayton, Ohio to Charles and Stella Locke. He graduated from Chaminade High School and served in the Marines in Japan during the Korean conflict. When he returned home he enrolled at Ohio State University where he had the honor of being the editor of the student newspaper, the Ohio State Lantern. He graduated with a Journalism degree and moved to Canton to join the staff at the Timken Company that published the corporate magazine, The Trading Post. Tom served as President of the O.S.U. Stark County Alumni club, President of the Stark County Advertising Club, served as Chairman of the Hall of Fame's Mayor's breakfast and wrote the lyrics for many years that the Hall of Fame Chorus sang to introduce the year's enshrines. Tom joined George Wern and Dave Rausch and started the Wern, Rausch, Locke Advertising Agency in 1958. Tom loved writing and in 2010 wrote a book "Waving Back" as a tribute to his parents. Tom is survived by his wife, Sandy; children Vikki (Mike), Todd (Joni), and Tom, Jr (Ana Marie); grandchildren: Trey, Tara and Todd, Jr. and a sister Rosemary Taylor who lives in Dayton. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
