Charles “Sam” W. Sample Jr., age 78 passed away on September 9, 2021. He was born in Massillon on May 02, 1943, to the late Carolyn and Charles W. Sample Sr. He was a 1961 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. He married Linda Prine on July 16, 1966, and they shared 55 years together. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in West Germany during the building of the Berlin Wall. Sam worked as a Machine Operator at Hercules Engine for 29 years and later worked for Shearers until his retirement. He enjoyed going to casinos, horse racing and was an avid Massillon, New York Yankees and Ohio State fan. Sam will be remembered as a fun-loving guy with wicked sense of humor. He was a great husband and father and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Linda; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Christina Sample and his sister-in-law, Cheryl Prine; Special cuz and girlfriend, Brenda and Drew Prine as well as a host of friends. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the First Christian Church on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 5pm. The family will receive friends from 4pm until the time of the service.
