Charles R. 'Charley' Essinger, Jr.

Charles R. “Charley” Essinger, Jr., age 65 of Massillon, passed away Thursday evening at his residence. He was born on October 17, 1941 in Massillon to the late Charles R. and Kathryn (Wilson) Essinger, Sr. Charley was a United States Army Veteran and a retiree of the Timken Co. He was a member of the AMVETS Post #12 in Massillon where he served as a treasurer. Charley was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolee Essinger who passed away in April 2006. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David C. and Kristy Essinger of Massillon and a daughter and son-in-law Lori and Jamie Getz of Canal Fulton; 4 grandchildren, Shannon and T. J. Getz, Gabe and Zach Essinger and 1 great grandson, Dylan Maul. Funeral services celebrating Charley’s life will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with the Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Calling hours will be Monday 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Interment will follow the services at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton.
