Charles Merlin Geibel, 92, passed away on November 30, 2013, following an extended illness. He was born in Pleasant City on April 22, 1921 to the late John and Frances (Kirkbride) Geibel. Charles served in the Ohio National Guard and worked at Republic Steel until his retirement. Charles enjoyed fishing and spending time out in the yard tinkering. He is survived by his six children Marilyn Wyles of Canton, Paul Geibel, of Massillon, Charles Geibel, Jr. of Canton, James Geibel of Massillon, Bernard (Vicki)Geibel of Canal Fulton and Bruce Geibel of Massillon; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother John Geibel of Albuquerque, NM ; four sisters Ruth Reese, Betty Mathers, Katherine Nickol all of Massillon and Phyllis Jean Lowther of Stroudsburg, PA ; special sister –in-law Pearl Jean Geibel and many nephews and cousins. He is also preceded in death by four brothers Raymond E. Geibel, Jesse Geibel, James Geibel and Bernard Geibel and a sister Clara Nickerson. Friends may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Rev. Clifford Price, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
