Charles L. Roy

Charles L. Roy, 82, of Canton, Ohio, passed away at his home on Monday, January 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 20, 1940 in Branchland, West Virginia to the late Charles Edward "Bobie" and Gladys (Thacker) Roy.

Charles loved to garden, fish, hunt and go four-wheeling. He referred to himself as a "jack of all trades", always kept his hands busy and enjoyed playing the slot machines. He was an avid, award winning horse shoe player. Charles was a car enthusiast who loved the outdoors. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Dencil Roy, Willie Roy and Denver Roy, and his sister, Lilly Watts.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Cassie (Ramey) Roy; his daughters, Theresa (Matthew) Chalfant and Norma Austin; granddaughter, Sydney Chalfant; sister, Hazel Plumley; and brothers, Raymond Roy, Donald Roy and Willis Roy.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Paquelet Funeral Home. The funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, at Paquelet Funeral Home with burial to follow at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillon, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to St. Jude's.
