Charles James “J.R.” Rambaud, age 67 of Massillon, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at his residence. He was born on April 16, 1938 in Massillon and was the son of the late Charles C. & Evelyn (Jenkins) Rambaud. He was a lifelong area resident. J.R. owned and operated R&R Auto Sales and Motorsports along with his son Jeff. He raced for more than 40 years at tracks around the U.S. and Canada. Along with Jeff and driver Bob Sibila, they won the Nascar championship at Lorain County Speedway in 2004. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling with his friends. For 30 years he played in the band J.R. & Company. He was a member of the Amvets Post 12, the Loyal Order of the Moose #481, the American Legion Post 221 and the V.F.W. #3124. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Deyonne Rambaud and his sister Linda Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Dottie L. Rambaud, children, Jayne M. (John) Harvey, Joni L. (Roger) Poindexter, Jeff S. Rambaud and Jan L. Singer, stepchildren, Michelle L. (Charlie) Hitt and Jerry (Lori) Blair, sister, Judy (Robert) Weimer, brother Larry (Debbie) Rambaud, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & 3 step grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookfield Cemetery.
