Charles Eugene Johnson, 84, of Massillon, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014. Charles was born on March 31, 1930 in Dalton, the son of Denver and Ruth (Rager) Johnson. He was a lifelong resident and a Washington High School graduate. He was a Korean War United States Army veteran. Charles retired from the Eaton Corporation as a metallurgist. He was actively involved in many organizations including: Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, State Representative for Veteran's Administration, AMVETS both at State and National levels, Governor's Committee for Handicapped, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree where he was the complex manager for 20 years, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Merle Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Margaret (Eberhardt) Johnson of 62 years of marriage; his children and their spouses, Charles Patrick (Lori Wiener) Johnson, Michael Andrew (Darlene) Johnson, Karla Ann (Donald) Diglaw, and Marcella Mary (Michael) Morris; his grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Bryan (Ashley) Johnson, Amber Diglaw, Kodi Diglaw, Kristina (Matt) Finley, and Moriah Diglaw; his brother, Ronald (Gloria) Johnson; and his sisters, Patricia (Curtis) Pickens, and Martha Eberhardt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Fr. Edward Gretchko will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
