Charles E. Allen, age 80 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. His death was unexpected. He was born in Washburn, WV on May 15, 1931 and was the son of the late Ernest and Edith (White) Allen. He was a Massillon resident since 1950. He was a 1950 graduate of Harrisville (WV) High School, he then worked at Republic Steel until he began his career as a self employed truck driver. Following his retirement in 1985 from driving truck, he drove bus for Fidelity, Crossroads and Davis Tours. He enjoyed camping, driving his RV and taking his family on vacations. His memberships included the Clinton Lodge #47 F. & A.M., the Tadmor Shrine in Akron and Teamster's Local #92. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Forrest "Bud" Allen. He is survived by his wife Betty L. (Bartz) Allen, whom he married on June 17, 1953, his daughters, Rebecca Cornell of Massillon and Charlene Morrison of the home and two grandchildren, Kayla Morrison and Lindsey Cornell. A sister, Beverly Allen Brown and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 20th at 11:30 A.M. at the Massillon Baptist Temple with Dr. W. Jay Dolvin officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home and on Thursday at the church one hour before the service. The Clinton Lodge will hold a Masonic service on Wednesday at 5:00 P.M. Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch A Golden Rule Funeral Home 330-833-4839
