Charles Dougherty

Charles A. “Chuck” Dougherty, age 79 of Perry Township, died Friday evening at his residence. He was born on July 6, 1925 in Massillon and was the son of the late Anson & Ada (Dulabahn) Dougherty. He was raised in Brewster, Ohio and was an area resident all of his life. Upon finishing his tour of duty with the U.S. Army during WWII, Chuck took over his uncle’s business, Industrial Tool Company. After over 50 years in business, he passed it along to his sons, Kevin & Brian Dougherty. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a past member of Perry Toastmasters, the American Legion Post in Brewster and served for 16 years on the Perry Local Board of Education. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Dougherty. He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Moore) Dougherty whom he married on November 1, 1947, his children, Deborah (Dave) Musolff of Bad Axe, MI, Kevin Dougherty of Canton, Diane Dougherty of Akron, OH and Brian (Janet) Dougherty of Louisville, OH, his grandchildren, Amanda, Danny, Emily, Ellen, Chelsea, Megan & Rachel and his sister Sally (Ralph) Householder of Cleveland, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. James Zimmerman and Chaplain Paul Rudy officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Aultman Hospice, Trinity United Methodist Church or the donor’s favorite charity.
