Charles D. Ross (Charlie), age 86, of Canton, passed away peacefully this week after a very courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1922, he attended Hartford Elementary School and completed his high school education after World War II. He was a lifelong resident of Canton, a Navy World War II veteran, and retired from the Hoover Company in 1986. He was an avid fisherman, lived life to the fullest, and touched the lives of many. He will be dearly missed. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Peter Ross; and brothers and sisters, Pat (Lucieue) McAndrew, Helen Marcelli, Francis Ross, and Nick Ross. He is survived by his sons, Jerry L. Ross, James A. Ross, Charles L. Ross, and Michael E. Ross, all of Canton; along with cousins, nieces, grandsons, and granddaughters. Calling hours will be at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 18, with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
