Charles "Chuck" Wesley Hamby, age 77, of Massillon received his Final Promotion to Heaven on Friday, November 24, 2023.
He was born on March 26, 1946 in Leckie, WV.
Chuck was a veteran of The United States Army. He retired from Diebold after 33 1/2 years of service. He was a charter member and deacon of Anchor Baptist Church.
Chuck's favorite Bible verse was John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." KJV 1611
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Bessie (Overbaugh) Hamby; a niece; and two nephews.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara L. (Alvarez) Hamby; their children, Marnie (Karl) DeChurch, Piper Jo (Pastor James) Butler, Pastor Clifton (Emily) Hamby; grandchildren, Cora Jo (Pastor Caleb) Foster, Pastor Corban (Hannah) Butler, Zeke (Heather) Hamby, Pastor Cody (Hannah) Hamby, Julia (Jack) Hughes, and Ethan (Ashley) Hamby; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Zelda (Tim) Meadows and Carl (Brenda) Hamby; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday, December 1, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Anchor Baptist Church 2700 Richville Drive SE, Massillon, Ohio, with funeral services to follow at 11:30 am, Pastor Shane Rice and Pastor Mark Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery.
