Charles “Chuck” J. Dolezal, 88, of Massillon, passed away at his home on November 12, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 12, 1934, in Cleveland to the late Charles and Mildred (Sindelar) Dolezal.
He attended East Technical High School in Cleveland for two years before graduating from South High School in Cleveland in 1953.
Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1957. Ooh-Rah!
He became a Cleveland Mounted Police Officer and then retired as a United States Marshal. He also worked as a blacksmith farrier and was a 32nd degree Mason.
Chuck married his beloved wife, Carol (Salata) Dolezal, on February 14, 1972. They shared 50 years before her passing on March 5, 2022. They are now together again.
Chuck was a proud American and an avid gun enthusiast. He attended outdoor meetings for the NRA, was a member of the Ohio Gun Collection Club, Lempe Shooting Club, life member of the Canton McKinley Rifle and Pistol Club, member of the Stark County Gun Collection Club as well as many others too numerous to mention.
He was also an avid sports fan even when the Browns weren’t doing good, and he loved a good boxing match.
Chuck will be deeply missed by his loving children, Bonnie Stevens, Melissa (Lonnie) Grombol, Charles (Sandy) Dolezal and Steven Dolezal.
In addition to his parents and wife, Chuck was preceded in death by his son Matthew Dolezal and two stepdaughters Sandra Nichols and Donna Stevens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22nd from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Massillon.
Burial will also take place Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio where he will be buried next to his loving bride, Carol.
