Charles “Charlie” L. Williams, age 72 of Perry Twp. passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 26, 2022. He was born in Massillon on August 31, 1949 to the late Charles and Rosie (Flinner) Williams. He was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. Charlie married Peggy A. Miller on March 31, 1977 and they shared 45 years together. Charlie served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 2 tours in Vietnam. In addition he served in the National Guard and was known as, “Sgt. Good Boots”. After military service he worked for Ganiey Sharpening, until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, fishing, camping, beating his grandchildren in the game of Chess and volunteering for the Boy Scouts. Charlie was a devoted family man and serving as a father figure to many including those that were not his biological children. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Peggy; his children, Troy James (Valerie) Hout and Travis F. (Carol) Hout; his grandchildren Courtney Hout, Danniell (Tyler) Stevenson, James Vogelsong, Taylor Little, Camron Little, Haley Little, Ellie Hout, and Carson Hout; 7 great-grandchildren; his sister Nancy Palmer; his brother Randy (Fran) Williams and a host of family and friends. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter Tracey L. Willams-Little; his father and mother-in-law James C. and Gertrude E. Miller and his step-father Donald Heintz. A Memorial service will be held at Newman Cemetery on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11a.m. located 11155 Orrville Street NW, Massillon, OH 44647. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps and the American Legion Post 221.
