Charles Charlie Albert Palaski, age 68 of Massillon, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, surrounded by family. He was born on February 5th, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio and was the son of the late Martin and Frances (Mrofka) Palaski. Charlie was a proud member of AA, where he over came his addiction and became a role model while helping many others over come their struggles. He enjoyed multiple hobbies including wood working, racing and gardening. But his favorite joy was spending quality time with his family and friends. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge. He was a former employee of the Tyson Bearing Company, Diebold and then retiring from Union Metal of Canton. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Romans) to whom he was married for 25 years; daughters, Amanda Palaski and Alicia Southall of Canton, Alina & Mike Dorto of Louisville; granddaughter, Amber Snyder; grandsons, Thane Dourm and C.J. Dorto; sisters, Elizabeth (Steve) Hickel of Stanwood, MI, Karen (Joe) Rohr of Massillon; sister-in-law, Jane Palaski of Plainville, CT; brothers, Thomas (Marlene) Palaski of Canton, Joseph Palaski, Timothy (Rita) Palaski of Massillon and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, James Palaski of Planville, CT, Paul and Donald Palaski of Massillon and nephew, Robert Palaski of Massillon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral in Massillon with Rev. Roger Kurzen, officiating. Friends may call Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to aid in the expenses.
