Charles A. Evans September 6, 1937 - December 18, 2020 Charles A. Evans, 83, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, in Uniontown, OH. Born in Canton, OH, to Albert and Elsie (Warwick) Evans, on September 6, 1937, Charles was the loving husband of Suzanne R. Evans for nearly 58 years. Charles is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Anthony) Maite of Grove City, OH, and Linda (James, Jr.) Mullinax of Uniontown, OH, his grandchildren, Kyle (Kalen) Maite, Kayla Mullinax, and Evan Mullinax, and his great-grandchild, Cameron Maite, as well as his two sisters, Kathleen Lung and Ruth (Eric) Batchelor, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Chuck was a 1955 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School who served in the Marines. He graduated in 1966 from the University of Akron and was employed as an industrial engineer by the Timken Company for thirty-two years. Chuck was an avid train enthusiast, growing up across the street from the Pennsylvania Railroad and having numerous indoor and outdoor model trains throughout his life. Additionally, he loved to play the harmonica and enjoyed performing as a member of the Rubber Capital Harmonica Club during his retirement. He also enjoyed travelling with his family, visiting all parts of the United States, as well as Iceland and Germany in recent years. During his life, Chuck lived in Westerville, OH, North Canton, OH, Gaffney, SC, and Bucyrus, OH before returning to Massillon, OH in 1999. He was a family-oriented man who devoted himself to his wife and children, as well as his church and community. He was a man of great faith and a long-standing member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Massillon. Throughout his life, Chuck volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club of America, Junior Achievement, the Jaycees Girls Softball League, and the Boy Scouts, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the St. Luke’s Home for the Aged. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life in a socially-distanced memorial service at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22. Calling hours will be at 1:00 and the service at 2:00. Officiating the ceremony will be Pastor Mark Kreemer and Dr. Patty Long of St. Paul’s, with a live streaming service for those unable to attend in person by clicking Facebook Live Streaming on December 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m..
