Catherine Mary Karahuta

Catherine Mary Karahuta, 90, of Navarre, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, following many years of battling cancer. Catherine was born in Massillon on October 1, 1932, the daughter of the late Victor and Anne (Pajack) Alexander. Mama was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always there when we needed her. She never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation and would open her heart in support of anyone in need. She was happiest when she was spending time with family, especially at Christmas, her, and dad's favorite time. Her favorite past time was playing bingo with her dear friends Judy and Starr. She retired from H.J. Heinz after 21 years of service in 1997. She married the love of her life, Michael Karahuta on November 17, 1951. He passed away on March 4, 2004. Together they raised four children.

Along with her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, George, Frank, Alex, William, Chris, and Jim Alexander, and Clara Mann.

She is survived by her children, Vickie (Randy) Compan, Jeannie (Michael) Jones, Michael (Jodi) Karahuta II, and Johnny (Donna) Karahuta; grandchildren, Michael Jones, Josh Livengood, Michael Karahuta, III, Shaun Karahuta, Randy (Jennifer) Compan, Rick (Leah) Compan, Katie (Bobby) Courtney, Jonathan (Jessi) Karahuta; 13 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Vic Alexander, and Mike (Sue) Alexander.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. A Celebration of Catherine's life will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Go Fund Me - Bobby Courtney Fight Against Cancer.
