Catherine C. Bishop

Catherine C. Bishop age 94 of Massillon passed away January 24, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Catherine was born January 28, 1915 in Elrama, PA to the late James & Rose Ann (Caldwell) Mead and lived in Massillon since 1930. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Being a wonderful wife and a dedicated mother, she will be deeply missed by her family for her excellent memory and humorous family stories. She was preceded in death by her husband Dewitt C. Bishop Sr. in 1997 and a grandson, DeWitt Bishop III Catherine is survived by seven children: Lillie Christie of Sun City Center, FL, Dewitt C. Bishop Jr. of North Ridge, CA, Gregory D. Bishop of Bull Head City, AZ, Lorin G. (Sylvia) Bishop of Massillon, Fr. Tom Bishop of Canton (Pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church and All Saints Catholic Churches of Canton), Saundra (Lanny) Bucci of Sun City Center, FL Darla A. Bishop of Massillon; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren and a sister Dorothy (Grant) Condon of Beach City. There are many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon, her son Fr. Tom Bishop will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Tuesday 5-8 PM and from 10 AM until 10:45 AM on Wednesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
