Cassie "Big Mom" Shelton

Cassie “Big Mom” Shelton, 91, of Massillon departed on July 24, 2019. She was born in Fayetteville, TN, on March 13, 1928; a daughter to the late Calvin and Maggie (Swift) Moss. She married T.W. on February 22, 1946. They moved from Tennessee to Massillon in 1959. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a mother of her church. Cassie loved gardening and always had beautiful flower beds. Cassie was preceded in death by her parents, husband T.W., daughter Cynthia, and grandchild Jason. She is survived by 2 sons Arlander (Linda) Shelton of Austin, TX, Larry (Joyce) Shelton of Perry Township; 4 daughters Almeater Ross of Canton, Shirley (Perry) Moore of Jackson Township, Dee Shelton of Vero Beach, FL, Fay (Pete) Shelton-Barnes of Perry Township; 8 grandchildren Clendon, David, Kisha, Tiffany, Adrian, Adrianna, Shaun, Larry Jr.; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held from 11am-1pm with a graveside to follow on Monday, July 29, 2019. Final resting place will be at Massillon Cemetery.
