Caryll A. Weston

December 15, 1928 — April 1, 2024

Let us tell you about our mother.

She was born Caryll Ann Helfrick in Jeanette, PA on December 15, 1928, to Welty and Florence (Rings) Helfrick. The family moved to Canton in the early 1930’s. Caryll graduated McKinley High School in 1946. She married Donald Weston on March 5th, 1949. She worked as a probate secretary then. They had 3 sons, Rick was made May of 1950, Denny was made in May of 1955, and Mikey was made in August of 1960. We had a wonderful childhood much like the Cleavers on “Leave it to Beaver”. Mom was a great cook and baker. Nobody ever left our house without being fed. We took many rides to the country, where she gathered Black Walnuts, Mushrooms, and Dandelions. Mom played the piano and violin. Her favorite actor was Clark Gable. Her favorite TV shows were the Price is Right, Let’s Make A Deal, and professional wrestling. Thanks to Laura, Jen, Linsy, Beth, Loretta and Issabells for taking such good care of her. Mom collected plates, thimbles, ceramic cats, and angels. Her life long best friends were Mary Posoloni, Alma Diivinie, Joyce Whipkey, and Howard Kemp. Her sister Betty Baab and her were very active in their church, St. Johns Lutheran in Massillon. Mom was an avid cat lover. Mom worked for about 20 years at Massillon City Hospital as head baker and cook. She was in great demand to serve their private meetings.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Welty and Florence (Rings) Helfrick; husband, Donald Weston; and sister, Betty Baab.

She is survived by her 3 sons, Rick Weston, Denny and Val Weston, and Mikey and Karen Weston; 3 grandsons, John, Paul, and Timothy James; and 1 granddaughter Ranada.

There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the stark County Humane Society.

Mom was a very kind person and will live on in our hearts forever. God Bless Her.

Well folks, that’s our mom!
