Carolyn Brown, 68, of Akron, passed away on October 5, 2022. She was born on May 22, 1954 to the late Alphonso and Josephine (Calhoun) Brown. She was 1972 graduate of Washington Massillon High School.
Carolyn was an Employee Benefits Specialist for First Energy for 42 years. She was a long time member of the House of the Lord and had a giving heart, where she served on the bereavement committee. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, decorating, going to the theater where she attended many plays and musicals, shopping, entertaining family and friends. Her passion was her family, spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. Carolyn was a kind, patient and generous soul, who thought of others before she thought of herself. She will forever be remembered and celebrated as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Nicole C. Brown; her granddaughter Kerolyn N. Woodward; her brothers Alphonso J. Brown, Kenneth E.(Deb) Brown, Antonio L.(Darlene) Brown, Peter E. Brown; her sisters, Sharlene A. Brown, Jennifer L. (Bobby) Grizzard, Sonya R. Echols, her niece, Kristal Brown, and Step-Brother, Mark (Melinda) Hamilton. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister Wendy J. Brown and brother Tracy P. Brown.
A Homegoing service will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10a.m. Pastor Linda C. Isaiah will be officiating. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home from 9a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
