Carolyn Mozden

Carolyn Mozden,78, of Massillon, passed away on January 21, 2023. She was born in Massillon on July 4, 1944, to the late Thomas “Bud” and Virginia (Behrendt) Eber.

She was a proud graduate of the 1st graduating class at Tuslaw High School and was a longtime member of Myers UCC in Massillon.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Mozden on May 21, 1966, and they shared 57 years together. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family and being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Carolyn also had a love for candy making. Her passion started while working at a local candy shop in Massillon but eventually turned into a hobby, making many pounds of delicious candy with her husband during the holidays.

She also loved to cook which made her an exceptional employee at Abigail’s Tea Room where she did most of the cooking.

Other hobbies Carolyn enjoyed doing were crocheting, knitting and cross stitching. She made many prayer shawls for her fellow church members and donated numerous hats, scarves, and booties to those in need.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother Donald Eber and brother-in-law Keith Stroud.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Chuck Mozden; daughters Angela Pry and Amanda (Brian) Kemp; grandsons Logan Pry and Shawn Mozden; and sisters Phyllis Eber and Joyce Stroud.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28th from 10am to 11am at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A memorial service will follow at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which Carolyn held very near to her heart or to Myers United Church of Christ.
