Carolyn Jean Risher (Longwell) of Canton, Ohio passed away in her home on Friday at the age of 70. Carolyn, aka "Mom, Aunt Carol, Grandma, Great Grandma," and to her one and only love Chuck, "Carol, do YOU want to drive?" will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A quiet lady, she never failed to make everyone she knew feel welcomed. She truly believed in putting others before herself.
Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Mareth Longwell, she is survived by her high school sweetheart Charles, having celebrated 50 years of marriage together. She is also survived by her daughter Melissa (Rob) Howard and Angela (Jim) Larson. She has three grandchildren, Maggie (Josh) Shaver, Reece Risher and Elise Feller, and great grandson Spencer Shaver, who will forever be guided by her legacy of kindness. She is also survived by her older brother Ken Longwell and her younger sister Susan Sogorka and a slew of nieces and nephews.
Supported by many lifelong friends who meant the world to her (you know who you are), Carol fought ovarian cancer for the past year. While that beast may have won her body, her soul and spirit never faltered.
In lieu of flowers, Carol asked for donations to the Tourette Association of America, the Crohn's Foundation and to Magee Women's Hospital.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their support and assistance with their wife and mother.
