Carolyn J. Finger, age 91 of Massillon passed away in her home on Thursday, October 18, 2018. She was born in Massillon on November 13, 1926 to the late Merle and Gladys Graber. She was a graduate of Washington High School. She married Barton E. Smith Jr and they were together until his passing. She married Russell Finger in 1974 and they shared 21 years together until his passing in 1995. Carolyn was the first secretary at the State Highway Patrol Barracks in Massillon. She was an avid golfer into her late 70’s, enjoyed horseback riding, especially her Quarter Horse Billy. She was member of the Ohio American Hilo Club and traveled every month from May to October on campouts with Russ and her sister Faye after Russ passed away. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile as well as being a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend. She is survived by her daughters Linda S. Martin and Debra A. Strickland; step-daughters Debbie L. Wyatt and Barbara Snyder and Jackie Hephner; her grandchildren Eric John Sasavicz, Amanda J. Martin, Joshua Strickland, Heather Stickland Davies, Jaime Wyatt Lucey, Dana Hersh Keeter; great grandchildren Joseph Daniel Martin, Savannah Rose Martin, Dylan J. Martin, Bryiana L. Davies, Nevaeh M. Torres, Sarah K. Davies, Zac Tamburo, and Justin Tamburo; her brother Richard and his wife Clara (Hoot) Graber and her sister Fahye Graber. A Gathering of family and friends will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4 to 7p.m. She will be interred on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11a.m. at Westlawn Cemetery (Graber Family Cemetery) in Mount Eaton between her husband and her parents.
