Carolyn E. Bennett

Carolyn E. Bennett, 83, of Port Washington, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Carolyn was born on September 1, 1938, in Wellsburg, WV the daughter of the late Charles and Rosie (Smith) Sims. She married the love of her life, Frank Williams and they shared 15 years of marriage. Carolyn worked as a home health aide for Embers Complete Care until her retirement. She had been a member of Hillview Baptist Church in Port Washington, and Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia. She was also a member of Anchor Baptist Church in Massillon for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon H. Bennett in 1997; sister, Barbara McCloud; and brothers, Delbert Sims, and Donald L. Sims. She is survived by her daughters, Helen (Richard) Sommers, and Robin Beckley; grandchildren, Zachary (Alexis) Williams, Cody (Jessalin) Carpenter, Keith Carpenter Jr., Lisa (Gary) Grimm, Jesse (Jessica) Beckley, David Allen Beckley, Jr., and Lyndy Beckley; sisters, Shirley Monroe and Nancy Sims; and 12 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery.
