Carolyn Ann Slicker

Carolyn Ann Slicker, 98, of Massillon passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022. Carolyn was born on May 29, 1924, to Maurice and Hilda (Marberger) Mauger. Carolyn was married to Edward Slicker for 62 years before his passing in 2008. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Massillon and an avid sports fan. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church.

Along with her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, George Mauger and her sister, Hilda Shephard.

She is survived by her children Theresa Hornbrook, Kathy (Dan) Braun, Linda Slicker, John (Denise) Slicker and Chris (Greg) Kestner; grandchildren, Jason and Matthew Hornbrook, Christopher, Jennifer, Joel, and Jeff Braun, Abby Randal, Johna Stagg, and Corey and Griffin Kestner; 4 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Roger (Caroline) Mauger and Bill (Mary Jane) Mauger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm before the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Traditions Hospice: 207 Portage Trail Extension W., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
