Carole Yvonne Byrd

August 11, 1946 — November 2, 2015

Carole K. Byrd, age 69 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 02, 2015. She was born on August 11, 1946 in Cincinnati to the late Lee William and Emma Susan (Anderson) Kemper. She married Frank R. Byrd and they shared 39 years until his passing on June 15, 2007. Carole worked as Administrative Secretary for over 20 years with Canton City Schools. She was a long time member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church. Carole enjoyed reading, sewing, watching her soaps, but most importantly spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered as a faithful loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend. Carole is survived by her son Brian (Michelle) Byrd; a grandson Jamaal Byrd; sister Arlette Merrit; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Carole was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa and a brother, William Walter "Buddy". A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 07, 2015 at 11a.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church – Massillon. Pastor Rosalyn Mitchell-Martin will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10a.m. until the time of the service. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory – 330-833-3222
