Carol Mae Emmert

Carol Mae (Evey) Emmert, age 79, passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 25, 1936 in Canton, Ohio and graduated from Timken High School and then worked as a legal secretary. After the birth of her five children, she returned to work in the family businesses, Emmerts in Massillon and Navarre. Carol and her husband of 60 years, Frank Emmert, were active in coaching gymnastics at the Massillon YMCA, teaching Sunday school at First Christian Church in Massillon, hosting many Rotary exchange students, participating in the Massillon Lions Club, and supporting the many activities of their children and grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Leonard. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her daughter, Carol Harmon (Suzie); and sons, Frank, John, and Patrick Emmert; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lions Lincoln Theater, PO Box 215, Massillon, OH 44648.
