Carol L. Gowins

Carol L. Gowins, age 81, of Dalton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. She was born in Massillon, Ohio, Dec. 11, 1935, to the late, John and Florence (Doubledee) Reidle. Carol was retired from the Massillon City School System as a district supervisor for the school cafeterias. She was heavily involved in the Massillon Women's Bowling Association for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who put everyone's needs ahead of her own. Carol was an active supporter of breast cancer awareness and the ASPCA. She enjoyed traveling and going to the casinos. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gowins who passed away in 2014 after 61 years of marriage; and sisters, Jean Strecker and Mary Ann Dingess. Carol is survived by her sons, Cass (Lori), Tim, Kevin (Debbie), and Ty Gowins; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Kutz and Blanche Marsh; and brother-in-law, Terry Gowins. Friends may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a memorial service to be held at 7:00pm, Rev. Clifford Price, officiating.
