Carol Jo Clapper

Carol Jo Clapper, age 73 of Massillon, went home to be with Jesus, Friday morning at her home surrounded by her family. Her passing followed a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born July 10, 1937 in Brace, TN to the late Eugene and Eva Webb and lived most of her life in Massillon. She was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. In 2002, Carol retired as the activities director for Meadow Wind Health Care Center. After retirement she continued her service of caring for people at the Sarah Care Center. Carol was a life member of the First Assembly of God Church in Massillon. She served her church in many capacities, secretary, Women's Ministries, Sunday school teacher in addition to 30 years at Rose Lane ministering to the residents. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ramon 'Toby' Webb. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Robert E. Clapper with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. They have three children, Jeffrey D. (Amy) Clapper, Cynthia J. (James) Kurzen and Edward A. Clapper all of Massillon; sister, Velma 'Jean' Smith; brother, Wayne (Judy) Webb; sister-in-law, Thelma Webb. She adored her four grandchildren, Bradley, Brett and Kristen Clapper and Seth Kurzen. A Celebration of Carol's Christian life will be 10:30 AM Monday at the First Assembly of God in Massillon, her pastor Kenneth Weaver will officiate. Burial will be at Newman Cemetery.
