Carol J. Johnson

Carol J. Johnson, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born on July 26, 1931, to the late Benjamin and Pauline (Schumacher) Voshall. She was a 1949 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. Carol married James E. Johnson on August 10, 1952, and they shared 58 years together until his passing in 2010. Carol was a Secretary for Massillon City Schools for 22 years until her retirement. She enjoyed gambling, traveling, playing cards, but most importantly spending time with her family. Carol was a member of the Massillon Women’s Club, and a member of First United Methodist Church. She will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Cynthia K. (Adam) Meyerson, James E. Johnson Jr., and Jeffrey P.(Chris) Johnson; her grandchildren James Johnson III, Kelsey (Yigit) Kuban, Kyle Johnson, Benny Johnson, Courtney (Nick) Johnson, Emily Meyerson and Zach Meyerson; her brother Bill (Margaret) Voshall as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers Dave Voshall and Ed Voshall. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, October 07, 2021 at noon at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and will be livestreamed. Facebook Live Streaming . The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
