Carol J. Baker, 75, passed away early Saturday morning, February 6, 2016 following an extended illness. She was born in Massillon on May 8, 1940 to the late Harold and Loretta (Tantz) Hoffman. Carol was a member of High Mill Pentecostal Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, James A. Baker, Sr., whom she married on March 21, 1959; their children, James A. Baker, Jr., Steven M. Baker, Carolyn (Jimmie) Holmes, Rebecca S. (Todd) Gardner and Beverly Baker; six grandchildren, Zachary Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Shaun Holmes, Nathan Holmes, Ryan Baker and Hunter Akey; three sisters, Linda Roush, Christine Smith and Catherine DiCico; and two brothers, John Hoffman and Bud Hoffman. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Scholey and Janet King. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 10:30am in the Paquelet Funeral Home, Rev. Thomas E. Baker, officiating. Burial will be private.
