Carmen Rocco LaCava, age 80 of Massillon, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 14, 2021 after many long years of health issues and succumbing to Lewey Body Dementia. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut on January 05, 1941 to the late Louis and Carmella (Toce) LaCava He married Janet Nilson on July 24, 1976 and they shared 33 years together until her passing in 2009. Carmen trusted Jesus as his personal savior on July 19, 1973 at a Billy Graham Crusade in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He would like all who read this to understand clearly that he is in heaven today only because of his faith and trust in the shed blood of Jesus, his sinless substitute. Jesus saith, “I am the way, the truth and the life , no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. John 14:6. “It is not by works but by his grace” Titus 3:5 and Ephesians 2:8-9. Carmen was adopted in the family of the late George and Anna LaCava at 6 weeks old and was the youngest of 14 children growing up. His biological mother died giving birth. Carmen wants all of his remaining brothers and sisters in Connecticut to know that he is thankful for all they have done for him and would like all of them to share in his joys of heaven with him by trusting in Jesus alone for salvation and not for their works or church to save them. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Bethany (Ryan) Gibson, Rebekah (Brian) DeWitt and Ruthanna (Brian) Ross; his grandchildren Tyler, Lana, Connor Brayden, Isla, Hailey and Gavin; his brothers Joe (Judy) LaCava, George LaCava; his sisters Jay Lombardo and Marie (John) Burnosky. He was preceded death by his parents, his wife Janet and his brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 12 noon. Deacon Dave Roberts will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Brookfield Cemetery.
