Carl R. Stewart

Carl R. Stewart, 94, of Navarre, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his residence. Carl was born on September 20, 1925 in New Matamoras, Ohio the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Pool) Stewart. Carl was a United States Army veteran and proudly served our country during WWII. He retired from the Timken Co. after 36 years of service. Carl was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5047 in Navarre. He also had a love for baseball and especially loved the Cleveland Indians. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Stewart in 1995; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; and 1 infant brother. He is survived by his children, Debbie Highben, Gary (Roxann) Stewart, Carletta (John) Fondriest and Cris (Stephen) Fondriest; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Carl’s life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory (330) 833-3222
