Carl R. Blackstone

Carl R. Blackstone , age 90 of North Canton, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 12, 1921 in Massillon and was the son of the late Carl M. & Grace E. (Shammo) Blackstone. Carl was a graduate of Washington High School and served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired from Hercules Engine. Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Wascherle) Blackstone in 2009, his grandson James Joseph, his great grandson Julian James Fischer Dixon and his brother Raymond Blackstone. Survivors include his daughter, Marcia Blackstone, his grandchildren, Malissa Clingman, Joyce (Ryan) Broel, Magnum Joseph and Elgin Joseph, his great grandchildren, Andrew George, Austin George, Tristan Fischer, Jaslyn Hagy and Grayson Broel and his sisters, Donna Luckner and Virginia Price. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 26th at 11:00 A.M. at Grace United Church of Christ with Rev. Barry Stirbens officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Newman Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday one hour before the service at the church.
