Candice Marie Kornowski

Candice Marie Kornowski, age 27 of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born on March 17, 1989 in Massillon. She graduated from Smithville High School in 2007 and earned her Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Akron in 2011. Candice was witty, smart and fun loving. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a million dollar smile that could light up a room. She was loved deeply by all and will be forever missed. Candice is survived by her mother and stepfather, Julie Harwig Smith and Scott Smith, her father, Kevin Kornowski, her brothers, Kenneth (Kara) Kornowski and Kurt Kornowski, her stepbrothers, Lance Smith and Logan Smith and her grandparents, Dennis and Mary Ann Harwig and Maryann Kornowski and the late Harvey Kornowski. Also surviving are her uncles, Dennis (Jennifer) Harwig, Jr., John (Monica) Harwig, Dave (Michelle) Harwig and Keith Kornowski and aunts, Carolyn (Michael) Bovee, Merrilynn (Robert) Grayson and the late Cheryl Sharpe and her Godparents, Jim and Karen Lane. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Fr. Edward Gretchko will officiate at a service beginning at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to assist the family with expenses. The family would like people to bring pictures, messages or favorite stories about Candice to be displayed on a board that will be provided.
