Cameron Harold Speck, 81, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 22, 1936. Cameron was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1955 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Mt. Union College in 1981. He founded Safety Resources Company of Ohio and was still active with the company. He also worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer for Stark County and was a Director of Big Brothers and Sisters and he had his own radio program Open Mic with Cam Speck on WTIG 990 AM, Massillon in the 70’s, a former Massillon Board of Education member, he served as President of the Board in 1989. He received, The Governors Youth Traffic Safety Award for developing driver’s education programs and The National Safety Council Distinguished Service Award. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Gard) Speck; their children, Curtis H. (Betsy) Speck and Melissa Ann Speck; four grandchildren, Anthony Crossen, Carley Thomas, Cayden Speck and Kaitlyn Speck; two sisters, Carole (Richard ) Curry and Barbara (Bob) Semian; and many friends and extended family . Cameron was preceded in death by his father, Clarence H. Speck; Mother and Step-father, Kathleen (Brase) and Wayne Gerber. He truly loved his work family, hunting family and especially his home family.
