Buddie E. May

Buddie E. May, age 77, of Massillon went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at his home. He was born in Dennison, Ohio on May 25, 1930 to the late David & Hazel (Ramsey) May. Buddie graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1948. After graduating, Buddie joined the Navy where he served 4yrs. on the USS Howard W. Gilmore. While Buddie was on leave he returned home where he met the love of his life, Alma (Wilson) May. In 1961, Buddie went to work for Tyson Roller Bearing where he was a welder. The family moved to Canton in 1966 to be closer to his job. After retiring from Tyson’s he went to work for Stark Truss. Buddie enjoyed carpentry & woodworking. He was a trustee & an usher at Massillon Baptist Temple. He was very active in the church & school, which he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents & two sisters, Marie May & Irene Dugan. Survived by wife, Alma (Wilson) May of Massillon; son, Richard & Sherry May of Navarre; daughter, Kathy Pavelzik of Canton; grandchildren, Jason, Scott, James & William May, Clarissa Pavelzik-Constable; 5 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 A.M. at the Massillon Baptist Temple. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials be made to the Massillon Baptist Temple & Massillon Christian School.
